Mounting HDS 10 on a 21XDC

I'm trying to figure out how I want to mount it at the console of my 21XDC. I know some of you have an HDS 8 or HDS 10. Can you please take a couple of pics of your installation and post them? I want to cover all my options BEFORE drilling!

Good post take your time think every thing out. I have the Billet products mount for the top of the console I wonder if that would work we will see what others have done.

the guy who mounted my 1197 cut a little bit off the bottom of the ram mount and made it fit in the grove were the fiberglass dips on the side of the boat directly beside the wind screen if i can get flipnpitchn off his a** and outta his boat and over to the house we will get some pics on here and it should give you an idea

I believe I've figured out what I'm going to do with this monster. I hope to install it tomorrow evening so I can go fish Saturday. Once installed, I will take a couple of pics. I promise that it will be a one of a kind install that will be followed by many!

Just a few thoughts you may want to look into if you go this route. With out the unit actually being here I am not sure if it will work however based on visual pics I would look into this.. I drew up a rough lay-out and will try and explain my thoughts..

If you mount in that dash location..

1) Rotate the ram mount to the right a few degrees. This should get the head away from the steering wheel and also get it lower to the boat.

2) Notch out the round base (green circle) and run the sonar wires thru this location. This way you don't have to drill into the fiber glass.

3) swap around the T handle (teal T) so that you get it away from the key location and not obstruct any dash ignition or toggles..

Just my opinion. Not a bad install for a larger Unit.

I switched the T handle to the other side and moved to the right as far as I could without having to modify anything. Now I can get to the button on the bottom left of the screen. I can still see all of the jackplate gauge too.
