Livewells Lids Coming Open While Running...anyone else have that problem

Every now and then the livewell lids on my 21xrd will fly open when running wide open or in rough water at moderate speed. Haven't lost any fish yet, but another guy I know lost some fish running to weigh in when the lid on his 21xd did the same thing. I was thinking of some methods of installing a safety catch of some kind to prevent this. I have tried all of the obvious stuff like adjusting the latches, lubing them etc. Just wondering if anyone else has installed a safety system of some kind.

I have had mine open, But I think they may not have been latched.

Had it happen on mine once but it wasn't latched correctly.. Maybe something is worn out in the latching system?? Guess worse case you could use a couple rod saver bungies..

Make sure the tab that the latch hooks to isn't bent. I bent one of mine and the lid would open pretty easy.

only time mine come open is when the latch isnt latched....like a club footed buddy stepping on them on accident

thats on my "pre-flight list" before taking off and its now a habit to reach over and latch them just in case the "pardner" bumps the latches. I have noticed this though because of the Dual console helps direct air different and maybe thats keep my lids shut. But the habit to reach and check helps

Had mine fly open a few times, got into the habit of checking before takeoff now.

the latch may have moved to the side , loosen the u shaped clamp and slide the latch towards the catch on the well, mine would pop open when going down the road on the trailer,

Mine use to do it all the time, I was constantly adjusting those damn latches.

Just another senseless design flaw by Bullet.

when i first got my boat , my partner had a bad habit of leaning his elbow on the latch and during our way back to the weigh in we lost two five lbers and did not know it till i strarted pulling them out so i allways make sure they are latched !!!!!
