I run a 21XD with a 200 on it turning a 27 Tempest with 12" setback 70 easy top end of 74 with me and all my gear and that is running 4 batteries. Never ran a Tempest on my 20XD but I would try it if I were you!!!

How high are you running the prop shaft and how much weight do you have in the front part of the boat? Also, is the lower unit stock or has it been coned?
I had the same rig but a 2002....the best prop for me was a worked 25 trophy...I tried a 26 but just hated the holeshot so the 25 was the best compromise....I have to admit I was always a little frustrated reading posts about guys going so fast and I could only get 73 out of that rig. I put a Promax on last year and hit 80 first time out....I was so thrilled that I never got around to even tweaking the setup and I think there's a few more mph inher
Best of luck

I went to Performance Propeller in Soddy Daisy ,Tn and they no their stuff. They put me on a 26 TXP and all I can say is wow.It is a 97 20XD 97 200 Promax stock77.8.Awesome prop right out of the box.The blades are thicker than the trophy. The Trophys seem to crack.I have cracked two of them.Just small hairline cracks on the leading edge of the props. The TXP is a good prop!

Ole Billy Eaves over at Performance Propeller knows his chit and is a helluva guy to boot. Has helped me out several times.
His brother Del is a motor genius and works right across the road in the Soddy Daisy Industrial Park at Nichols Outboard Engineering. Look them up if you ever need motor work.
Best folks i've dealt with in the marine business.
Windemerepointe, I sent you an instant message to tell you about the set up I had. Hopefully that will help you a little bit.![]()
