    Mounting Electronics

Guys, the one thing I hate is to drill holes in my bullet. But if you fish, you absolutely can't get around it if you are going to mount electronics. I plan to purchase a new depth finder this winter and mount it at the console somewhere. Is it possible for some of you to share pictures, equipment descriptions, mounting hardware, etc. of your setups. If you have any "watch out for's" I would also like to hear those.

    Re: Mounting Electronics (rusty202)

This is how i would do it. I love it like this and it is out of the way. I was going to mount it in the windshield but the steering wheel cuts right thru the middle of the screen. In my opinion why put it in the windshield when you can't see half the screen. Different strokes for different folks. Mounted like this it is not in the way of any taggles and gives the consol a wrap around effect. Any question let me know

Great looking set up. Very sharp. The gauge that is first on the left top row under the windshield. What is that for? I have seen this gauge a few other times on Bullets on this site. Thanks!

    Thank you for the comp.

If i have the correct gauge your asking about (solid black) It is actually a toggle switch. It controls the muti function feature to the gauge just to the right of it. There is also another one for the other gauge.

With this i can make a top end pass and come back to the dock and hit the toggle switch. It will recall my highest RPM and Speed. It also will give me the option to look at a few other functions.

Thanks for the pics. I like this set up. This way I don't have to drill holes in the top cap. I can mount it from the side.
Are the gauges you have in your boat different than what came in it, did you special order, or just replace them all?

    Re: Mounting Electronics (jemccall)

If anyone wants oneof the dash panels, just let me know. Mark, our mechanic/rigging guru/fiberglass guy is fixing to make a couple of them. We can do them for the 5 or 8 inch windhields. They are built out of fiberglass and you will have to trim them down before you mount them.

I went with the SmartCraft Gauges from Bullet when the boat was built. The upper dash is all custom.

The dash panel is from Rothwell. I cut to fit and mounted myself.
Those upper gauges are Livorsie Digital GPS and Tach. The red rim on the gauges were custom painted by me to match the custom painted rims on the smartcraft orginally done by Rothwell. Nobody had the color rims we needed to match the boat so its all done by hand...

All these products (dash, gauges, mounting materials, etc.) can be had from Rothwell Marine.

You have a few options for upper gauges. The route i went was not the cheapest and you may want to fill out a credit app before ordering Rothwell has doen a few boats with other gauges that may be something more justifiable at the end of the day.

if you have any question about this install feel free to give me a call and i will help the best i can.

Here is a night view of the cockpit..

Meant to ask in my previous post, how do you like the sidefinder unit? And where is the transducer normally mounted for these?

    Re: Mounting Electronics (RG-IN-NH)

Side imaging is the only way to go now days. Once you get down the concept of how to read it (not hard) it is simply amazing what you can see in perfect detail..

Here is one way to mount it.

this mount is a simple plate that goes on the lower transome bolts. Be sure you drop it down enough to clear the side plates of the setback plate. If you don't it will interfere with the sonar. Very simple and easy way to mount it in my opinion.

    Re: Mounting Electronics (Chris1978)

i have a hydrodynamics setback plate. Factory from Bullet. Then went with a Stainless Marine hydraulic. I don't fish stump infested waters so i never have to worry about stumps bustin the ducer if thats what your asking...

I don't have any other pictures handy at this time. what angle are you trying to see?

As for the removable PP bracket. Its on the boat and works like a champ. In production as we speak. Should have some available in a few weeks.

Will make an announcment when its ready to ship.
