nosecone thougths?

OK so i just talked to a few guys about nosecone upgrades for 3.0 Torquemaster lower units. Looks like in the end if you mod. a sporty vs. torque it'll be the same. if my source was correct. is this true?

both sporty and toque will be outfitted with a low water pickup from underneath the nosecone which the tm will benefit more since it's at the nose from the factory. skeg will be moded too on both to be identical shape/size.

would I be able to put motor up 1.5" above pad and run 28-30P props if i get my tm lu nosecone??? any thoughts and testimonies........please let me know!!!

Then i've heard and talked to a few other guys that say nosecones don't help and will still blow out at near 90mphs.... they say screw it and just get a sporty and be done with it... I'm confused..

BWB needs to do an article on adding nosecones to torquemaster and not so much to the sporties because they are so great to begin with. come on now BWB...... if they have would be great if anyone can direct me to their link.

I'm looking to get into the 90+mph zone....without buying a $3000+ sporty lower unit.

total cost of nosecone is somewhere in the $500 range only.

ok so BWB did do a test... but this is for slow boats from 60s to 70s. need to know from 80s to 90s...that's where it becomes crucial.

looks like with the bobs BIG FOOT kit, the motor was put up waaaaaaaaaay high and still it got about 10psi water. question is when approaching the century mark will the big foot blow out on the bullet hull......

BWB mag is no more, they stopped production of it a few months ago.

What motor do you run? I would send the gearcase to titus and let him cone it. You should be able to run as fast as that boat will run with that case. Blowout out is usually a setup miss or driver. On most all nose cones the water inlets will be under the cone.

There is not much reason to put a cone on a sportmaster......it already has the cone.....just get the skeg and torque tab profiled

Go with Titus or Jc's.

Blowout won't be a problem. I'd stay away from Bob's. I've heard some quality issues from them lately.

ok guys still haven't got my questions answered. In WI there aren't much boating going on so never seen a sporty modded vs. a torque modded.

in the end are they they same if modded by titus?

what about if the tm is moded, will it be similar or a bit better then the sporty???

hope someone can chime in that has had experience with comparing what i'm trying to understand.

if not worth nosecone then ultimately i'll be saving up for the sporty. let me know guys...........

Send it to titus and let him cone the torquemaster. You don't have to worry about blowing the boat out. Fishing load you will likely run 1.25'' above and light around 1.75-2'' above. Thing to remember is that the higher you go up the less positive trim you use. You will get more stern lift.......less wetted surface.....not bow high......the faster it will run. Better get you some bigger props too

It will be similar......you will need a big prop running the boat light to keep the xb off the limiter

A coned tm will be faster and handle better than a stocky sporty
