Toooo Much Water (livewell question)

Is there a such thing as pumping in too much water??

I need to pull my tank to finish up some stuff

Was thinking of adding another pump in with its own designated pick up. I was thinking of adding the jet towards the bottom of the well. Any thoughts good or bad ???

I know the overflow can only handle so much. thats the only issue i see.

I don't think you could have too much, because the drain hole is large enough and the width of the tank would help to prevent the overflow from getting bogged with to much water, the drain is more than adequate to accommodate 2 pumps if you wanted to do that.

I have a 2004 21XDC and I cannot leave my pump running or it will overfill my livewell. I have taken the fuel tank out and took the overflow line out to verify it was not clogged. I did the recirculate and pumpout upgrade to mine and really like the upgrade. I would think the overflow could handle the amount of flow but mine cannot.

What size pump did you go to when you did the up grade? Currently my drain can keep up even if I leave it running all day looooong

When I did the upgrade I went to 700 or 800 gph pumps, Never had an issue so far.

I put a 700 gph in it, but it would overflow before I did the upgrade. This is the only boat I have had that would do this. My last 21XDC wouldn't do it. With the new upgrade the recirculate does an excellent job, so I don't worry about keeping fresh water pumping thru continuously. Now I just have to be careful putting water in the livewell.

Rich, I've got a 2, 1000 GPH pumps, one for fill and one for rec. Works good, but install was a muther F*^%ker!!! Why not try an Oxygenator???.....if you go the Oxygenator route, call me first.

rich , if the drain can't handle it ...add another drain while your at it. you'll come up with something

I almost put another drain in mine as it will almost over flow if the pump is left on manual and not auto.

yeah, not so much lookin for the oxy aspect. just somethin to fill faster. i am going to call flow rite on monday and see what he has to say
