    phase kits on 250 hpdi

what kind of power can be expected out of phase kits 2 and 3 on an 04 250hpdi? would there be any benefit to installing a 300 computer? thanks

Re: phase kits on 250 hpdi (mikeym)

    Phase II - 20 hp
    Phase III - 50 hp
The 300 ecu will help if installed after Phase Kit, the 300 ecu bu itself will have no effect.

Not really, just sounds a little throaty. But if you want more noise, you can remove the muffler.

what kind of power differences do you see between the 250 and 300? where is the additional power made on the series 2 motors?

Re: phase kits on 250 hpdi (mikeym)

Not to be sarcastic but it is now about 50 hp. It didn't used to be that much. When the 300 first came out, it didn't quite make 300hp at the crankshaft. So the difference wasn't that much.
The new HPDI's (Series 2) are about 20hp more than the previous edition.....the biggest change hey made was re-mapping the ecu.
Did that answer your question? Sorry, its earrrrrrrrly.

p.s. My name is Mat Worthy and I also work for Hydro Tec (as you can tell from my signature) and I will be on here as well helping out my dad.

Re: phase kits on 250 hpdi (Mat_HT)

mat, thats what i was referring to. everything i have read shows the 300 around 275hp, and yall dynoed the 250 for bwb 3 years ago at high 260s, which was a pre-series 2 motor. thats also why i asked about installing an updated 300 computer, hoping to gain power from the remapped tuning along with it being tuned for 50hp more. essentially the 300 has different porting, tuning, and cooling system? would there be nothing gained from worked 300 heads? im sorry for all the questions, but a friend has some 300 stuff laying around, and i would like to determine what would be worth while to install when the phase kit goes on. thanks

The 300 heads will show a little difference but really need to be modified. The 300 ecu is a good idea after some mods

I heard you could change a chip in a 225 HPDI with a chip in a 250 HPDI and make the 225 a 250. Is this true??

No, there is no chip that can be changed. I wish there was...then we could put one in it without a rev-limiter!

Re: phase kits on 250 hpdi (bigskeeter20i)

HT 3510 Phase II ($450 deposit for heads) 1,396.00
HT 3520 Phase III ($450 deposit for heads) 2,839.00
(Throttle body & reed blocks must be sent in advance)
I don't understand you 2nd question? The warranty can not be voided by can be affected by Phase Kits. Whoever does install is responsible for warranty of installation of kit.
