everyone i just put a new water separator on my boat .was running good when i tested it out after installation ,went to a tournment yesterday morn got in the water idled ok then kept dying out ..never did get it run it would turn over idle for 4 to 5 seconds then die ,, if the bulb was bad would engine still run ,also do you think the hoses are sucking air somewhere lost ! ralph
Unscrew the new filter and see if it is full of fuel. If not pour fuel in and put it back on. If the bulb is bad you cannot prime the vst and the engine will not run.
thanks charlie ,i did unscrew filter and bulb is ok , i did have some air in system ,now i got the boat running but i would bogg down when pressing on gas ,then when i started it again it would ren fine ,,then after a few times it would boggg again, can bad gas do this ,,,my gas was in the tank for 5 months i added stabile and ring free ,,the system is tight now ,and i put new plugs in it but still not running good , i guess my question is would old gas cause this ralph
I don't think so, 5 months with Stabil is fine. You've got some other problem. I would have the fuel pressure tested.
Ralph, what kind of boat do you have
check the fuel tank vent
