Looking for Caney Lake update

Buddy and I went last Friday. Got there a little before 9. Had 2 fish in boat within 20 minutes, one went 7.7 and the other 5.13. Don't think we had another bite and fished til after 2. The bigger one was caught on a red Xcalibur rattle bait and the other on a 200 Bandit. There was also an 11 weighed in that morning as well. There wasn't many people bass fishing but when we pulled up that morning there were probably 20 boats around the dam white perch fishing. Haven't heard any other reports from there. But the good news is there seems to be some grass coming back. It's not matted in the place we went, but our crankbaits kept hitting it.

I'll be up there from March 4th - 10th for a fishing trip, staying at Jimmy Davis State Park cabins!!! Hope the fish are biting!! Might have to get some advise from you Micheal...im not used to that deep clear water fishing We have mostly shallow & muddy water down here.

They'll be so shallow when you're here that you'll be able to see them.

preacher is right, the grass is coming back and in a good way. Not choked down but down there on ledges and man does it make a difference.
