Lake Okhissa

Anyone been to Lake Ohkissa lately? How's the bite? Is there a lot of grass on that lake?

I've never been, not sure what to expect except a lot of standing timber.

Will be up there November 18th thru 20th.

Ain't a place for a bank beater. Deep water fishing - you will get a first hand introduction to learning electronics. Depend on where you launch. Standing timber on the entire lake. You fish some points and few flats.

You forgot to say.....Grass, what grass?

I have been told from a buddy who fishes it regularly that he has snagged what looks like some sort of vegitation, but it wasn't grass

yep tried to beat the bank my 1st time there for 3-4 hours not a bite . Found a drop off from 15 to 25 feet thru a shakey head down it caught a 6lber !! talk about blind luck But have been back a couple times and caught a few good ones off that same spot.

We managed a few fish this weekend. We wound up with 19 fish this weekend, had some nice slot fish and one above we turned loose.

I was expecting to find some nice drop-offs but the whole dang lake is one irregularity after another. Seems this lake has a lot to offer, maybe too much to offer. Made me want to fish everything thoroughly, had to move through the lake until we caught a couple then slowed down and worked on them.

Found a couple of wind blown pockets that held the majority of our fish. Caught them on spinnerbaits and brushhogs with a couple on swimbaits. I must admit that I haven't been fishing in so long it didn't matter how many we caught. Once I had that first one tugging on the end of my line I was satisfied. Just nice to finally get out and fish.

You could have done worse! Some days I go and don't catch a thing. I hadn't been in a while so I didn't offer any advice. Like you said, every spot in the lake looks like it would hold fish.
