i have a 02 200hp yamaha ox66 motor,while fishin last week i went to crank it and when
i turned key sounded like relay clicking motor wouldnt do anything,tried jumping it still nothing had to get towed in,when i got home and backed it under carport i tried it again and it would start up everytime like nothing was ever wrong,has anyone else had this problem or maybe know what to look for....very frustrating
How new or fresh is your battery? I'd check that first, and the battery connections.

battery is good,that was the 1st thing i checked even took the cables from motor off of cranking battery and ran em over to trolling battery and hooked them up,still nothing
after gettn home and then motor starts fine everytime my mechanic says he doesnt know where to start looking,hard to detect since it isnt acting up at da present time,thx for the replies
Loose engine block ground. Corroded contact to starter assembly on motor. Bad or corroded ignition key switch. Have a way to switch batteries when gremlin returns to really rule the batt out. And loose or corroded connector can be sneaky.
