    Spiders in boat????

We are covered in spiders, ants, bugs, etc. At the new house. Boat stays in shop when not in use. Normally spiders don't bother me but was in there yesterday and seen a black widow on her web. Have seen others around the house but first in boat. What do y'all do to get rid of them cause im pretty sure the are other bw's in there that i can't see.

+1 on that. I have to go get some this week. Killed a brown widow last night under the carport. We've been watching him rebuild his web every night for the past week or 2...couldn't take it anymore and put him down last night. It was only when I went around to him that I realized what it was!

P.S. I never knew there was such thing as a Brown Widow until last year when I killed one in almost the same spot and thought to myself that it looked exactly like a black widow, only brown, (same markings, just without the red)

The brown widows are everywhere at our shop. Tool boxes, pipe, crates....etc.

Jeremy if you have a boat cover, put it on and throw one of those bombs under it. It should kill everything in your boat at least.

Re: Spiders in boat???? (fishin couillon)

I jst went thro a black widow problem at my house that i jst built and is less than a year old. I sprayed the ortho stuff and it helped very little with spiders. In order to completly get rid of the spiders u have to get rid of their food source. There are some things u can spray yourself that i have heard of. I called terminix and whatever the hell they sprayed killed every insect at my house. I had crickets few roaches dragon flies chit i aint never seen before dying under my poarch for three days!! I havnt seen a black widow since.

Re: Spiders in boat???? (fishin couillon)

I know from spraying in the nursery that most insecticides/fungicides will rust the chit out of stuff that it gets on. That might be a whole other league of chemical but I bet down the road it could do the same

Most stuff that kils roaches and ants will not kill spiders. I went to the feed store and bought some stuff made for spiders.

    here's what the label says....

Ants, bees, beetles, boxelder bugs, carpet beetles, centipedes, cloth moths, cockroaches, crickets, earwigs, firebrats, flies, gnats, midges, millipedes, pillbugs, scorpions, silverfish, sowbugs, spiders, ticks and wasps.

A real easy way to get rid of spiders in boats and places like that is the glue traps for mice. They also work great for lizards around the house because you can't kill those suckers with spray. Just a quick and easy to get rid of unwanted stuff without spraying chemicals.

This is the stuff I used. And this is hard to say, but I was wrong. It also kills ants and roaches.
