Rule 17: Fishing Guides who have guided for black bass on tournament lake during two-months (60 days) prior to tournament and Anglers who participate in a National Circuit and have winnings of $50,000.00 or more during the previous calendar year will not be eligible to compete, unless said person has fished in the preceding tournament of same division. Championships are considered the final event in each division.
So how would this work on such a diverse fishery such as the delta, he stated he had a guide trip fishing for redfish and located the bass during that trip, cause its basically the same type of fishing. If this rule is such a problem then it needs to be re-written to stae "no guides allowed that have guided on the tournament waters in the previous 60 days"

there is more to the story than this that doesnt need to be discussed anymore on here. But you can go read the sportsman that clearly HE states that he was guiding bass LAST WEEK

Agrred.
So was he protested and DQ'd? Or are folks just mad cause this dude won and was guiding the week before. I am not trying to start BS or anything im just not sure how y'all do things over there.
Looks like a no brainer to me. Guy is a guide, was guiding last week, looks like he said he was catching reds, bass, sac a lait on the same trip. One of the reasons our tournaments down here are struggling,,no tournament or circuit has the balls to DQ people for not following the rules. We got people that jump in and or run across marsh etc to get to fish and most of the time that is against rules too. I'll keep my few dollars in my pocket til it gets sorted out.

EXACTLY!!! Everone that fishes down here dam well knows where they can and cannot fish, so really theres no excuse. The honest guys would never go in those places in the first place...just sayin.![]()
I don't know where these guys went, as a guide i am sure he knows where and where not to go,,but others running the marsh etc is a big problem
A buddy of mine was DQ'd yesterday for being 1 minute late. They had a decent stringer and would have gotten a check. He went talk to the tournament director explaining to her how they had broke down and everything they did to make it back in time and asked her if they could just deduct 1/2 a pound from there total weight like other tournaments rules. But the director told him...a rule is a rule...no bending them. And his total weight was DQ'd.
