Talked to Art on the phone this morning to get info...we are in a club together (DBC)...he runs a tire shop in Vidalia so gets half the lake time of most folks...
has a nice Bass Cat and red Silverado (like me)...
Told my wife yesterday that "it was that kind of day for somebody to get on the water and bust a couple huge pre-spawners"...
Minorca is 5 miles from our house....one over 7 was caught there last November in a small OPEN I held since nothing was happening club-wise that weekend...
its a "river oxbow" connected to the Ms. River BUT this is the strangest winter in many years, many...water is at a super super low stage for winter (check the Natchez gauge)...generally its 40-55 feet and its under 18 feet and has been for weeks !!!

reelman.I heard rumor of a 11.2lbr caught this past wknd at okhissa.you heard anything about it?
That fish musta weighd more than it looks. Or thats a bad pic. Ive seen pics of 5lbers that look bigger than that. But Cuddos to him!Im still tryn to break the 10lb mark.
11.2 was caught a few weeks ago, actually I think it may have been December

Yeah, da 10 looks like a skinny 8...was told they (he and partner) weighed it on a legit scale...Art has huge hands and arms from his tire business but still...fun trip...nobody is gonna trash the guys on the weight but I saw it too.
Maybe cause I have not seen any since the 7 last Nov out of there..
I weighed it as the guy running a little OPEN one Saturday...it was a mule..
under 7.5 but a mule.
Then MattS sent me a pic of his Feb 2nd 7.25 from Minorca with the scale digit as it hung on the scale...another mule...

Ms. river on a strong rise now so its over on connected lakes for at least a week...maybe a lot longer.
Monday looks like a rare "window" with 60+ and sun...they will be moving shallow all over the coastal states' inland lakes...sweet.
