    Lowrider problems

Anyone have any Falcon Lowriders that last more than a year or so. I'm done with them.

    Re: Lowrider problems (jcdogfish)

I've got 2 I've had for a while. Had 3, lost 1 in the lake. Other than that, they seem to last. I've had them for 2 maybe 3 years.

They snap about 18" from the tip. Broke 2 today on fish. I love the rods but broke at least 6 in the last 5 years or so. The original falcons keep on chugging.

You are the first guy i have ever heard breaking that many, you must have a hook set like the Hulk!!

Do you have mono or braid on the rods that have broken ?

I bet Bump's equipment lasts forever. Never has the problem of fish pulling on it.

No, these old tore up hands and shoulders couldn't break an egg. I broke one to day on the hook set and the other swinging a fish in the boat. I sent back the first one I broke and they said it was not a defect and broke from abuse. I don't try to send them in anymore. All broke with mono. I only use braid for punching and may go back to mono there too.

    Re: Lowrider problems (Gun Runner)

I broke 2 rods last year. Both had fish on. Well one was a stump with a jig and the other was a brush pile with a buzz bait. They both felt like fish.

    Re: Lowrider problems (Gun Runner)

I always thought the lowrider was more sensitive than the original but today, after breaking the 2, I put the jig on the original and it seemed to be a little more sensitive than the lowrider. I will have to do some more research on that tomorrow .

That is just plain ole stinkin bad luck. I can't tell you what to change to except Cara's, because i have used Falcons for just about as long as i have been fishing. My brother has been using them longer then me and got me hooked on them. Hope it gets better for you, i don't blame you i would be pissed too..

I've had my lowrider for 10 years, no problems. Only use Power Pro on it so I eased up on my hook sets.
