    Rooms for the classic

Anybody been looking for hotel rooms for the classic. Everything I find is over $200. I am not paying that much to sleep.

barry, you wont find better. I go to new orleans often as my girlfriends dad does alot of business out of there. Anytime you have an event as the classic, the rates go up.

Just came across the New Orleans Marriot at the Convention Center. Says $129 a night. Right across the street from the convention center.

I looked at rooms at the Hilton Riverside a few weeks ago and they were the regular $159? or so a night. Waited to book to make sure we could go, now it cost me $211.

Dont blame you. Not an option for me. We split a room with another couple so it didnt hurt as bad

Right across the river is gretna, terrytown, belle chasse, etc. $70-100 a night. Holiday Inn,
La Quinta(last resort), and others. 5-15 minutes away.

Re: Rooms for the classic (jeff210)

Jeff is right, the best room rates will be on the west bank near where I live. Can probably get a room at Comfort Inn or Best Western for 70.00 to 90.00 a night. Still not far from Downtown, about 30-35 mins.

Re: Rooms for the classic (BARRY J)

Might want to try rooms in Metairie. It's about 10 min. from the convention center.
Probably get one for about 80 a night.
