Hey fella's, I want to share something I stumbled on in my archives of fishing articles. What I have is a piece of article that Chris Ginn reported just after Hurricane Katrina. This article is somewhat serious to all of us at the time because we didn't know if Louisiana's title of being known as the, "Sportsman Paradise", would return. Some of u will find this rather interesting to see how natural mother took matters in her own hands despite of what we predicted or thought.
"NOTED FROM CHRIS GINN'S ARTICLE"
In 1999, Davy Hite won the CITGO Bassmaster Classic in an area located just southwest of New Orleans. Michael Iaconelli won his world title four years later about 80 miles south of the Big Easy near Venice.
""In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, which smashed into the Louisiana coastline Aug. 29, those areas are now devastated, forever altered by massive tidal surge and wind. Altered, too, is the entire Gulf Coast region's sportfishing industry, which supports thousands of jobs and generates an economic impact measured in the billions of dollars for Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
"I don't think you'll see another bass in Venice for 20 years," said Louisiana BASS pro Greg Hackney."
Now, how do y'all like them apples?????????????????????
