Same thing happened to me and my son, I killed a 8 pt that morning . Told him he should have gotten up.

good eating, looks like you left the real tender one out there. I been letting a lot of deer pass but i think i'm gonna cap a couple next week. You are right, its time to get those kids out there. Deer are really starting to move around here. Oh, by the way, if you make sausage out of the backstrap you should be put in jail.

I would have let my son choot the bigger one and that smaller one would have been next. Oh and don't worry the backstrap is never used for sausage in my house..

If my club let me shoot under 70lbs I would shoot 2 of those every year. best eating and it will be 2 years before a small doe does anything productive. Momma will put 2 more on the ground next year.
