At least someone had a good day today!

Wife and I just finished unloading groceries and heard a BOOM and felt the house shake.. went in the garage, and found out what the noise was.

Apparently, my son's foot slipped off the brake pedal as he was pulling into the driveway, and hit the garage door with his Civic. Not only did he screw the garage doors up, but he hit the doors into the back bumper of my wife's Altima, and hit his left front quarter panel on the brick column.

Here is after I was able to finagle the doors apart and get the wifes car out the garage.

So, all told, I figure about 2000 worth of damage.

300 to fix the wife's Altima

400 to fix the garage doors

1100 to fix the front bumper and left front quarter panel of his car

200 to fix the siding around the frame of the garage.

negative.. the bottom panel of the garage door went flying into the back bumper of the Altima. I had to take the bottom two panels off, lay them on the driveway and beat them with a rubber mallet to try to get them as straight as I could so I could at least get the wife's car out the garage so she can go to work, and so I could secure the garage.

I wish I would taken pics before hand... it was ugly!

You should see the son's Civic... I got duct tape all over the left front.. looks like he is in a Nascar race! I told him he was going to have to come up with AT LEAST 1000 to help cover it.

My father in law is the Fire Chief of St Gabriel . He got a bad call a few yrs back at about 3 in the AM , needless to say , he was in a big hurry !!!! He jumped up , got his clothes and his radios , run into the garage , hit the door opener for the garage door , got in his truck and backed out , but the garage door dint open at all !!!!!!!!! He backed all the way out , and ripped the freakin door down . Tore up his truck , and the garage !!!!!!!!

That sucks. Reminds me of when I let my youngest back the wife's car under the car port. He got in a hurry and backed into my boat trailer. Didn't hurt the boat and just scratched the bumper on the car. The wife was pissed. He was 14 at the time. I told him I couldn't say anything because I had my first wreck at 12.

Are you sure Cooney was not trying to back into the garage?

Rest in Peace Buddy Poche - Bayou Bullet.
