yamaha 60h wont start after battery hooked up wrong

My uncle has a pontoon boat with a 60hp 4 stroke. He accidently hooked the battery leads up backwards, now he has nothing at the key. I'll get more info on exact year and make but for now is there anything obvious to check. We checked fuses and are good.

Start looking for burned grounds on the powerhead.

Did you check the fuses on the motor? It should have at least one main fuse somewhere by the starter. If it was hooked up backwards, this fuse is not good, it had to blow.

Thanks, I'll have him check for one on the motor too. I havnt actually looked at it yet as the boat is over an hour away. First thing that came to my mind was a fuse but he said he checked them. Not sure if he would know about one on the motor.
