    SYNTHETIC TRAILER BOARDS A+

Many trailer boards do not last over 5 years before mold and rot weaken areas...examine closely! None of mine lasted 6 years.
These 4 boards are $55 for the short outside and $119 for the long inside boards...plus 20 galvanized or SS 1.5 by 3/8 lag screws.
Just do the outside replacements one year then the inside the other if cost is a factor. I have done this 2x now and can e mail exact
steps and what you need...took me about 90 minutes today for the inside boards...had to launch boat first of course.
Keep in mind trailer boards usually break at the launch to ruin your day or ruin your trip home.

No carpet reelman? Seems like you would still want carpet? That sounds like a winner!

That stuff is made out of a synthetic that is as slick as snot. They also make thinner ones you can put on top of your current boards.

    SYNTHETIC TRAILER BOARDS A+

U-bds are NOT that slick...NOT teflon coated. I have a winch strap plus heavy chain...launches here are not very steep...all anyone has to do IF they have that issue is to back up till the trailer wheels are in the water...which I always do anyhow...no big deal. Those slick teflon srew down strips ARE much slicker.

I don't sell the U-Bds or know anyone or have any connection to them...I, for one, am tired of wooden boards with knots and getting moldy in La. heat-humidity...
once a board breaks at the launch...you will be amazed how attitude changes...
in 30 years and about 5 rigs...my boards go out in 4-6 years...I mean broken rotted gone and we all forget that...and few guys really crawl under to look for cracks and molds...bet on that.

My current 2004 trailer had one board mold break plus a hidden rot in the middle plus the other board had 2 early stage bad places ready to crack this fall.

This is my 2nd trailer with new outside U-bds...no issues then...so added new U-outsides last May and they probably saved my hull since the inside ones are rotted now...the U-bds held weight off the failing wooden ones well.

Its a very very ugly thing to try to get a bass boat on a trailer after a board goes out at the launch...you end up leaving the boat and running to a store or something ugly that ruins the day...and if you drove 2 hours to the lake...not good.

Your money your rig your call.

My last trip to Concordia I had a board come loose on one end. Tied it down and loaded the boat.

Reelman-when you say the ramps are not very steep around there, me thinks you are forgetting about Larto.

I saw a guy with synthetic boards load up... the guy in the truck took off up the ramp before anyone hooked the front... boat ended up laying on the ramp cuz those jokers are slick. It just slid right back off.

Ouch, that's gotta really ruin the trip. I always latch the boat first.

I like the idea of the boards for the longevity issue, but why not put carpet on them as well?

Re: SYNTHETIC TRAILER BOARDS A+ (JayLaw)

That was my question. Especially if they are slick b/c I only lock my boat down when I am by myself before I pull out. Can you not staple the carpet to these?
