Wish he was on 35 years ago. Took me a long time to get everything paid for,,His system would have been a lot easier road. I bought his books for my kids, but they probably won't listen either. It's amazing how little money you need when you have no notes to pay. I read the books and its very simple. You younger guys should at least read his books even if you don't follow all the advise something may sink in. It could be hard to do in this "I want it all now society"

Dave Ramsey does make a lot of sence, but to do what he says, you have to drive your truck till the doors fall off, and most people ain't keeping a vehickle more than 5 - 6 years these days. Except me of course....

like the rest of us thats why we always broke !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if we would fish out of a boat for 10-12 year, drive a car for that long and live in the same house for 40 years we would all be better off.

    Re: Dave Ramsey (DOUGMCGEEFTD)

Hell, Frtio Lay moves us every 3-5 years, so the house thing seems to be out of the question......
I get a new boat every 2-3 years or sooner, so that's strike 2.....
And the car thing, well, lets not go there......

My truck is an 01 (bought used 2 yrs old), been paid off a while and hope to get 4 more years out of it. The wife's car is an 03 (again, bought used) and paid off. Unfortunately, we're probably going to be car shopping this winter. Our 16 yr old is going to be needing a car.

And did I mention we paid off the house in 10 yrs?

Amazingly, with no car, truck, boat, or house note, we STILL can't save any money.

If you have a good truck, that's what you need to do. I've seen too many people get rid of a perfect truck just to buy a POS.

    Re: Dave Ramsey (Mike_z71)

I had a 4x4 Tacoma paid for in 2 yrs. Nice truck. Ran across a steal on a camper so I got it. That steal cost me 30,000 for a new Z71 to pull it. What a deal huh? That one hurt. One more yr though and its paid for and not goin anywhere!
