    Shifting problem.

I fished all day with no problems, until I was ready to put the boat on the trailer...I would have to shift in and out of gear a few times to get it to go into neutral from reverse...It would shift out of gear, but you could hear it slightly clicking still...Shift it in and out of gear a few more times and it went away..Then it did it again...What could cause this?..It also seemed a little hard to shift while it was doing this...

    Re: Shifting problem. (201pro)

Found the shifting issue...There was a loose bolt that had made it's way down to where the shift rod linkage was at the lower pan...OK, now that is fixed, but where the heck did this bolt come from?..I have looked everywhere and cannot find it...It is a 10mm head with an "8" stamped on it...It is about 1 1/4" long...I know it came from somewhere, but I cannot find it...

Found the bolt...It came from the exhaust plate cover, under the CDI cover...Could this have caused any idle issues?..It has been idleing funny for the past few times out...

I was going to suggest checking there. I know there was a problem with some of the OX66's having loose bolts back there. I took my CDI off and reached back there with a 10mm open end wrench and checked for tightness last summer (09). I found two that were slightly loose.
