Well, had noticed that when I would hammer down to get out of the hole, I would get hesitation and almost felt like the engine would "miss". As I had this problem before, under warranty, I knew what I needed to do.
I had to spend 200 bones on fuel filters for my 'hammer.
I bought:
High pressure fuel filter $88
VST canister gasket $31
low pressure filter $5
fuel pressure regulator parts and filer $36
Fuel pump filter $25
MAR FUELF FILTER $20
Replacement of the filters was prety easy, just took my time as I had them replaced with a fuel issue earlier on.
Needed few tools and followed the instructions here on how to pull the high pressure filter and the VST tank. Did a slightly different order, but came apart just fine.
Here is why it ran like crap and just to let you know, I use Ring Free each tank and also use the blue stuff from starbright to help with the ethanol phase seperation issues. Every spring I change the water seperator and will move that every 6 months now.
I found major mess in the VST tank, a piece of the old gasket from the VST tank. When I pulled apart the high pressure filter it had some water in it and some black sand looking crap. The high pressure filter itself when I pulled it out, was black but not that bad looking and no chunkies came with it.
If I was to do over, I would change just the fuel pump filter, the VST filter, low pressure filter and the water seperator filter.
The last set of filters lasted about 200 hours as I was planning on doing my 200 hour check this winter. This is just a guess on hours as I do not have a smart craft gauge.
Good luck fellas
