    Serious question about the spill??

I just heard a seafood commercial yesterday promoting Louisiana seafood. They were trying to convey to all Americans that Louisiana seafood was not "BAD". In the commercial they made a point to say that 70% of Louisiana's shoreline has not seen oil yet.
    How true is that???

That is true Jeff, They're seeing "sheen" to Marsh Island, but the heavy stuff is to the east from Terrebonne parish to Mississippi. They're starting to open more areas in Cocodrie to fish, so it must be moving more east.

I have been ofshore fishing for the past week and have other buddies fishing out of fourchon. There has been NO sign of oil or oil sheen. Nothing that even might be mistaken for oil sheen. I have been running out of the atchafalaya river and nothing.

Besides areas being closed, another reason the catch is down is because alot of shrimpers are contracted to BP instead of shrimping. Less boats=less shrimp.

But, YES, WE DO HAVE SEAFOOD!!!

They are catching good in the inland waters south of Houma. My cousin does it for a living and they are getting 4.50 a pound for big shrimp.
