LSU will head to Los Angeles for NCAA baseball regional play this weekend.

The Tigers (40-20) drew the No. 2 seed in their four-team, double-elimination regional bracket and will face No. 3 seed UC Irvine (37-19) on Friday.

LSU is traveling in the regional round for the first time since 1989.

Louisiana-Lafayette was sent to the Austin, Texas, region, which is hosted by the No. 1 national seed Texas. The Cajuns are the No. 3 seed and will play No. 2 seed Rice in their opener.

I was worried that they would be sent to play Texas, but this is much better for them and they have a better chance of coming out of this with a win.
