Lost power in the engine after first of season restart

So been busy and finally got my boat to hopefully get some fishing in Sunday or Monday. Boat was winterized. Battery at 100%. Went to start the engine and it coughed a bit, kicking out all the old crud and started. Idled at 800 for 5 to ten minutes and all was GREAT. Sounded great. Put the motor into gear looked great. put it back into neutral and shut it off.

Wentback to it a few minutes later to start it again (I don't know why) and NOTHING. Checked the battery its good. No power to the trim - either on the engine or throttle. Pushed in the choke no clicks.

Any ideas out there in Yamaha Land? It a 2000 Vmax 150.

Mark - thats what I thought - but why would it go after I shut down. This engine has been all mine from jump street and the manual is lost. I don't know whent he fuse panel is - I looked quickly.

Thanks Mark for the insight - it's about time I learn more about these engines.

Check the battery connections, and go from there. You should have a fuse panel under the cowling.

I second the fuse under the cowl..It can pop on shut down or even running for that matter,,Gotta be something small loose connection fuse/relay or even "pesky kill switch"

So what did your original problem end up being? I am experiencing a similar issue which is why I am curious.
