99 yamaha 115. The starter is engauging when I shift from forward to neutral? No kidding, it repeated that a dozen times last night. It also hung up during start up once or twice? Why would shifting have anything to do with the starter? This sounds crazy!
I've never heard of this one before. There must be some sort of "short" in the wiring and along the throttle cable causing this. Is your starting key built into the control box along with the throttle? If so, I'd suggest checking inside for a bare wire.
