I have recently noticed 3 "ticking" or "knocking" sound when i trim my motor all the way down before taking off. Has anyone else had this sound before? It is a 2008 225 Series 2. Motor is still under warranty, Do I take it in?
Thanks for any input!

Put a dab of marine grease on the top ends of the trim rods.
Most likely it has washed off and you are hearing the creaking of the rods and the pads rubbing together.
Give a man a fish, he will eat for a day
Teach a man to fish, he will complain that you stole his fishing spot.
Mine was more like a binding noise, but the grease fixed it.
do it a few times a year

Mine came with a big glob of grease on the pivet shaft. I'm still using it. A little dab will do ya![]()

Noticed the same thing. Was happening when I bought the boat and it worried me, but didn't stop the purchase. My wife was always asking me what the noise was and was worried about it too.
Funny that a couple dabs of grease took care of it. LOL![]()
