I think it would help out alot, from the picture, looks like from the cut going to the back. It'll give the fish some rest anyway.

it's from about 100 yards in front of the tires going back they are going to put new signs out in the lake for the management area and I agree it will give the fish a break.

I want to get the word out, and make diligent effort so all the work put forth does not fall on deaf ears.
In an effort to possibly insure the quality of Bass fishing for years to come in the Lake Cataouatche area; the wheels have been put into motion, in regards to recommending to establish some regulations that will hopefully include a slot limit. The area that we are targeting is within the Salvador Management boundaries; specifically the "Tank pond" and the "Netherland" (basically the area behind the tire wall and the body directly behind that). Our intentions are not to "take away from the fisherman"(I have fished there for the past 37 years), but insure the genetics that are present stay around for as long as possible. The spawning grounds need to be regulated for even a chance of this status to continue for years to come.
Under the present regulations, the quality of fish that we are enjoying will rapidly decline along with the quantity. If we get a hearing with the board, we will need support.

I slot would be a great thing for the Cat. I'm not for off limits areas, because there are already way too many private areas and gated canals out there.I have said all along to those who know me that if we control the amout and size of fish taken then fishing as a whole will be much better. This is where it starts first.
If you place an area to paddle only, then you will have mostly the meat hunters going after the fish and they will die for sure. I for one will not go buy a Yak to paddle there to catch fish, plus it will not be allowed in tournaments.
The other thing i would like to see is when there is a tx held within the boundrys of the Cat that there would be a release boat to take the fish caught back into the lake and not dropped in at the landings.Returning the fish especially the sows back to the lake would insure that they will keep the lake seeded with the fish that came from there.

Most coonasses will throw a pirouge in there boat, tie up or anchor out then catch all the toads in the tank ponds. I say NO FISHING. give them fish a break. I'm not for a slot, because you have to keep the populations down for the big ones to get bigger. If no one keeps the little ones then when winter comes and kills the grass, the competion for food will be crazy. Then you wined up with a bunch of skinny fish.
