but my steering is starting to "catch". It is teleflex No feedback steering, and the helm is going out. has anyone replaced their steering or know someone who has that has a helm laying around that i can buy?? This is what it looks like.....

check this thread out i asked it in the general forums without much answers. my buddy cant spend $200 bucks on a new helm right now and however his safety cant be at risk either. I explain everything in this thread. Mabey yall can explain this system to me??

This is from teleflex web site:
"These helms contain a clutch mechanism to prevent the engine torque
from being felt at the steering wheel. This reduces
driver fatigue by eliminating constant fighting of the
wheel. IT DOES NOT ELIMINATE THE ENGINE
TORQUE. This can only be reduced by proper trim and
tilt setting by trial and error when running the boat."
