    Looking at a boat with a 2000 Yamaha 115HP

Looking at a boat with a 2000 Yamaha 115HP, are these good motors ? what do I need to check ?
Also, are there any Yamaha guru's like there are on the Johnson/E-rude page ?

Yeah, a bay boat, best of both worlds, peacefulness in the river bass fishing, big fish in bay & ocean !!

I have owned two of them. Good motors just do a compression test, inspect the lower unit and oil after a test drive on the lake and give the whole rig INCLUDING the trailer a good inspection.

You can also make sure it's charging by checking the battery with a volt meter when it's not running and when running

I had one on my old 19' bay boat. Mine was the standard carbed 115. It wasn't a bad motor. My only complaint was it was hard to start when cold sometimes. The only problem I had with it was a power cable to the starter failing.

You mean the red cable under the cowl from the relay to the starter or another one?
