Just saw on the news where entergy is wanting us to pay for there $209 million dollar mistake. News said that entergy is wanting us to pay for there mistake of converting a plant from natural gas to another energy source. They made the conversion when natural gas was 3 times more than what it is now in 07.
News said if the state approves it that it will cost us about $165 each.

Dont feel bad.....Cleco is just about finish with there new power plant here (which is suppose to save us money on our bills an average of 5% ) and has gotten approval to get base rate increases to cover the costs of building the $1 billion Rodemacher unit. Now go figure. That "5% savings" will probably be offset due to the base rate increase.

I just quit paying "fuel adjustment" charges with entergy from Katrina. It is nice to open the bill and not see an additional 150 or more tacked on

I saw that on the news to but I understood that there was some kind of deal for the Government to subsidize the switch to coal. Then the government backed out of the deal. They said it would cost $2.75 extra on our bills for 5 years. Basicly the government makes a deal we have to pay for. Imagine that.

The real pi$$er to me is the talk about limiting TOPPS to lower income people. Pat Taylor came up with the TOPPS program to keep talented people in the state now that the state is running it it all changes.

They have lowered the standards for tops almost every year...that should be no suprise...when I graduated, you had to have a 3.5 GPA, minimum 24 or 26 on your ACT..can't remember which one, plus you had to be in the top 5% of your class.....which really sucked for me, cause we only had 40 people graduate....the top 3 all had 4.0s all of their life...I sat there in 4th...technically second, but 4th, people wise, and I couldn't get it...had all of the other qualifications though....

I wonder how this will affect Marathon. They are just about ready to start up the new Coker unit. Hope they have someone else to sell to.
