    Break in?

I'm breaking in a new 200 HPDI Series 2 motor. I am just about done with the first 3 hours. I have kept the motor trimmed all the way down during this. When I get to hours 3-10, is it ok to start trimming the motor up? There is nothing in the manual about trim during break in. I have left it trimmed all the way down so far just to be safe. Thanks.

You should be fine trimming it where ever you want to get it to an optimal running angle ...... just don't exceed the break-in rpm recommendation nor starve it for water.

So which Skeeter did you decide on???? Lincolnton?? Martin's??? Just curious. I've drooled over Lincolnton's white/blue one before (sorry) ..... and I've spent hours b.s.'ing around Martin's propped against that silver/blue one (glad that boat can't talk).

That white and blue one is no longer at Lincolnton Marine. They cleaned it up for me so your drool should be off of it

With them not mentioning the trim in the manual, I didn't think it would matter. I just wanted to make sure though, Had a buddy with a Mercury and he said he had to keep it trimmed down the whole time.

Double check, b/c I'm no expert on that ....... but I would think that the big thing is just don't 'free wheel' the motor (cavitate the prop) getting on plane nor running down the lake. You want to make sure a motor has a load on it while turning these rpm's ........................... thus Merc's recommendation to keep the motor trimmed down ...... I think that's a Merc 'CTA' statement.

I know that boat you bought. She's a pretty one. I seen her a few months ago when I was looking for a funny shaped trailer marker light for my Skeeter. Your boat was sitting at the front door when I noticed they changed styles and I was probably s.o.l. ...... which I was ................ but anyhow that's when I gave your boat the once over to see what all else they changed and admired the blue on the white and how the Hammer helped set it off ........ I've always been a sucker for a blue boat.
