Fuel consumption

Recently picked up an new to me boat with a 225 OX66 motor on it. Have been reading complaints about how much fuel they use. My question is would that be compared to other EFI motors or to carburetor motors? I have been told that the EFI motors use less fuel than the old carb motors.

It all depends on how hard you run it. 3500-4000rpm it gets good but at wot its likes the taste of fuel.

I have to agree with you even though you understated the "likes" part. When I run wide open, it's a gas hog!
