    Crazy storm on Toledo Bend...

So, was anybody involved in the big storm at the Top 6 tourney on Toledo Bend this weekend??? I heard the lake took 4 boats! 1 of which was a good friend of mine's 20ft Blazer...said they were under a brindge trying to hold on to the pilings while a tornado or something was coming through and the winds got so bad it blew them one way and some of our other friends the other way...the waves got so bad it sunk the Blazer and the other guys got theirs cranked just in time to hit the bank at about 40 to get out of it!... said that when they made it to the bank they watched 2 guys in a triton go down and have to swim back as well as a Warden's boat.... Sounded like a pretty crazy day!!

My parents were leaving the camp yesterday morning when the storm came through. She called me and told me to check the radar. There were trees, powerlines and fences on the road between Toledo town and Many. They said it was one of the worst storms they had seen in a while.

I could not imagine being on the lake in that stuff. I am always checking the radar on my phone when I'm fishing. If I see some red/yellow coming, I'm rollin'!

I went as an alternate for our club and glad I got to stay at the camp. Lots of trees down on other camps in the area and winds had to be 60 or 70mph,reminds me of what can happen starting next month.

we fished the first day, and had 26 pounds. on day two we saw what was coming and went home. theres no tourny worth losing a boat or worse.

I was there and weathered it in a boat house. We were sitting in the boat when the wind suddenly threw everything that wasn't tied down in the boat house out into the lake. After it cleared up a little we went back to fishing and trees were down all over the bank. All in all we had a good time and finished 10th overall.

What club are you in. At the weigh in they were looking for one club that didn't check in.

I was out there too and didn't see it till too late and had to sit it out in the boat behind a little Island. That is one thing I do never and I mean never want to do again I couldn't see my partner in the back of the boat.

I was caught in the water too in the 1215 area. The lighting wasn't bad until after the tornado passed. It moved in on us within 5 minutes. That just wasn't enough time to idle to the boat lane. The strong winds only lasted about 3 minutes but it was my scariest experience ever on the water. I've never seen waves rise but not travel. I think the missing bass club was Good ole boys club. Not sure where they are from.

I was right there by 1215 just a little farther back. When we heard the boats running to the State Park we decided to idle out of the cove but it was too late and just went for cover. I new something was up we had a south wind then hard to the west then north then east.

I was there, saw it on my phone coming and heard the thunder. Got the boat on trailer when the lightning was popping. Got to the camper, got out the truck to run for it, and got nailed by a falling rotten pine branch about the size of a 2" pipe across both arms as i was carrying things. Later i saw 3 or 4 high line poles down in the water where 191 crosses Lanann along the east side of the road. Lots of trees down. Crazy azz weather. Just thankful i was able to get off the water.

Were the fish biting during the high winds. J/K, went up there later that afternoon to check on a few camps and to pull stuff out the freezer at the camp. Didn't know how long the electricity would stay off but saw a lot of the damage. I would have hated to be out there during that weather.

My camp is at Sepulvado landing at the 1215 area. We cut trees off of camps all dat Sunday and Monday. Two twisters hit the area and tore up a bunch of camps were we are at. A lot of totaled camps. We had two boats sunk at the dock. It took us forever to get them out the water and off the bottom of the lake.
