Service shop in the Baton Rouge area

I was wondering who y'all would recommend for service in the BR area. I need to have a lower unit replacement as you can see

It's a mercury optimax if that makes a difference.

    Thanks,
    Scooter

David Wade Marine in Baton Rouge off Highland Rd. has done a great job for me! He is a Mercury Rep and has a great group of guys working with him. Good Luck!

There are several to choose from Thomas marine, ascension marine, the service mngr at BPS in denham springs is actually the mechanic i use. If you want to go out there talk to Larry tell him I sent you.I never delt with him thru BPS but he has been doing my work for 20 years. Also Richard Cooper in denham springs is about the best merc guy around but he wont hardly fool with the optis he older and old school. But if you had a 2.5 he would defintley be the man.

Tried to drop mine off at Simons yesterday, he told me I needed a battery not a starter. I checked and sure enough it is 2 months passed the warranty, losing power.

Not sure which Bubba L your are talking about but if it is LeBourgeois he works at cabela's.
He is a certified Mercury Mechanic and works on the side at his house in Maurepas.
