    Champion Boat Restoration

Good Morning, I was wondering if you all know of any boat hull reair shops in Louisiana who can do a complete make over??? I would like to get the bottom regel coated and the top redone. My boat is a 1994 Champion 184 SC with a few battle scars from over the years. It has always garaged kept. Any ideas how much it might cost. I hate to get rid of my boat and by new..... Thanks

I don't know about your area, but Toledo Fiberglass outside of Many does EXCELLENT work! You may want to think about if it's worth it, though. Maybe you should just think about a new hull.

I have heard that Dear Fiberglass near Denham Springs is good. I would think that this will be very expensive no matter who does it. Post some pictures before and after if you do it.

    Good Luck

Yea Dear Fiberglass in Denham does great work. Phone number 225-664-9400

Ask for Bubba, he is the owner. He has a bit of a wait time due to the quality work he does but it will be well worth the wait.

I know 3 or 4 companies that may be able to help but would recommend Bubba Dear before all of them.

They did my boat a few years ago and are the friends of one of my fishing buddies

Good luck with your restoration job.

    Re: Champion Boat Restoration (Bassblazen)

Al Drewitt is the owner of Toledo FiberGlass. Very nice guy and has a history of quality work. The Gorilla hull comes with a lifetime warranty that is transferrable I think. I would guess the G' hull would run about $3000 don't have any idea on the the cap. TBJ

Friend of mine has the gorilla hull on his 196 champ. It has been on there about 7-8 years and has held up excellent.

    Re: Champion Boat Restoration (DOUGMCGEE187)

I had a accident on red river with my champ 203 this past summer, hit rock jetty running back to weighin and it scraped about 18' of a 20' boat. Took it to Teldo Fiberglass and they did a great job. They fixed the fiberglass then put on a gorilla hull and had it all done in about a month. I would recommend them they have a top notch operation.

Re: Champion Boat Restoration (LA 24)

He said he might have lost 1mph if any. Not enough to worry about. He had a local glass man whos name i will not call fix the bottom 3 times and it kept falling out and cracking back off. Put that stuff on and has been fine ever since.
