The Dixie Bass Club of Natchez held its February 14th event on a 57-59 degree trophy Lake Concordia near Ferriday.
The 18 anglers weighed 63 bass with 11 limits despite the heavy rains of the previous night. The lake area air was 60 by the 3p.m. weighin under a cloudy sky for the high dingy lake.
Winner John "Team Go-Mart/Eddie's Marine" Bruce of Vidalia had the best local catch in years with a 26.70 limit and gorilla 8.88 lunker on jigs while Randy "Team Stratos" Pitre of Natchez
racked a 20.20 limit on plastics for second. Third was Alan Brumfield of Natchez with a 19.70 limit, 6.34 quality bite; 4th, Matt "Team Bryan's Marine" Smith of Natchez with a 15.99 limit, 6.21 quality bite and 5th, David Cooper of Vidalia with a 15.43 limit.
Others with fish were 6th, Terrell Foster (14.13 limit); 7th, Johnny Davis (13.62 limit, 5.66 quality bite); 8th, Terrell Jones (13.11 limit) ; 9th, Justin Foster (12.90 limit) ; 10th, Jerry Boykin 12.82 limit, 5.15 quality bite; Buster Martinez (7.46 limit); Paul Foster (3 for 6.96); Nick Rushing (2 for 6.09); Allen Blanton (2 for 3.44) and Doug "Team Kistler-Eddie's Marine" Schexnayder (1 for 1.44).
Also fishing were Grady Boykin, Steve Boyd and Jeremy Boykin.
