    Feedback on 225 HO Rude

I'm looking at a 210 Reata with a 2004 - 225 HO Evinrude Direct Injection motor on it. Have there been any problems with this motor? What is your overall opinion on the motor. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Thanks for the feedback Rusty, I've realized from reading the forum that you are the man when it comes to Rude motors, I appreciate your feedback on this motor. I was hoping it didn't have the problems like the Fichts did.

Re: Feedback on 225 HO Rude (Hair Jig)

I"ve been reading this board & several other webbsites for the last almost 2 years trying to learn as much as possible about the new E-TECS(have 1 on order) & during this time I've seen many post on these boards asking about the DI 225ho & I have not read a single negative post about this motor.

Re: Feedback on 225 HO Rude (TRITON20)

I don't believe it's the same motor as the Fichts. I believe they realized they had a problem with them and cut there loses. This motor is direct injection, which beats the hell out of me what that means. But I believe Bomb improve it to get away from the problems. At least from the info from Rusty I think this is a improved motor over the Fichts.

Re: Feedback on 225 HO Rude (firecapt44)

The new DI (Direct Injection) motors from Bomb have Many upgrades from the OMC motors and have a trac record second to none, Kinda Strange how all the other company's compare their motors to the Evinrude HO's.

It has not been titled. Should the 7 year warranty be included with it being a new boat? What is the normal warranty period for Rude motors. I'll make sure I ask the dealer about it. Thanks Rusty

Re: Feedback on 225 HO Rude (firecapt44)

If its a New Motor and the dealer wishes to participate in the program............that motor is eligible for the 7 year Warranty.

Normal for that motor is 3 years.

    Hey John,

Shouldn't that be 3 years (from the registration date)?

I knew it was a mistype. There is no way you were going to be wrong about that information.
