Did anyone win money at Rayburn this past weekend???

I'm sitting offshore wondering if I missed anything. Did any of you take a check?

1st hour of the tourney, raining cats and dogs, wind howling. I ran about 6 miles down the lake in the weather at about 5:00 a.m., still dark. I ran to a point down by the dam figuring if I can just get one keeper I'd have a chance at a check 'cause most of the guys hadn't even launched yet. I got a 2.55 and ended up 6th for the first hour of the tourney. $500.

Struggled for the rest of the first day, and all the second day trying to find deep fish which I suck at. Decided on day 3 to go to Buck Bay and fish my strength which is shallow grass. Got to my spot about an hour before first cast and ended up between two boats about 100 yards on either side of me. Once we started fishing one of them eased off and the other guy and I shared this point. About 7:30 I was fishing slower than I have in my life, and my line starts swimming off. I set and after a near heart attack and 3 HUGE jumps, landed what looked like an easy 10lb'er. It was post spawn and kinda saggy but had a huge head. I waited for the t-shirt hour, but a guy weighed a 9.99 so I waited for the next hour trying to get a 1st place hourly. I weighed her at 8.07 and had first until 10 minutes left, and a guy from Natchitoches came in with an 8.64 that he caught at the last minute. Ended up with $900 for that fish.

All in all, not a bad weekend.

$1400 and my biggest Rayburn fish ever.

    Good deal bro!

None of the coonass boys from Houma won anything.......maybe it's because I wasn't with them.

I weighed one and got bumped out pretty fast. I had a fish that would have won in the first hour, but I was 20 miles from the pavallion and would have cost me
just as much to make the run as what I would've won. If it would have been
3.00 instead of 2.9 I would have weighted it. I swung a few times on a good fish
but never got a solid hook set. She was swimming to me and on the 3erd swipe I got a piece of her and the c.rig pole folded and line stripped off the reel. Just when I siad GET THE out of my mouth the line went slack. I broke another off and partner broke one off sunday. Just wasn't ment to be for me.
I can say there were a ton of people fishing.

I did see Troy Friday loading and yelled at him. So Troy, now you know you were not hearing things. lol

My brother-n-law flew over Saturday and said it looked like a made house on the lake at 1pm.

    Congrats on the toad Troy.

Sorry about all the spelling problem boss man was coming....lol

Congrats Troy! I'm glad to see someone caught some big ones.

We caught tons of fish Friday in Coleman, & Veach. But couldn't connect with anything big. It was much slower Sat & Sun. Made a run up to Devil's Ford Sat afternoon, and a guy told us someone had pulled an 11+ out of there that morning, and that he had caught (2) 5+ fish that morning too.
I sure wished I had made the run up there before daylight.
We never boated a fish over 3# all weekend, But had a great time anyway. Already looking forward to next year.
