where is best fishing site around Lafayette?

Hi everybody. I am newer to Louisiana. Could anybody tell me some freshwater fishing sites around Lafayette?

Hi and welcome to the boards.As for your question, I'm sure a few of the guys from your area will be on in the morning and will help you out. If you want to drive farther south I could hook you up with some areas around Morgan City

morgan city is great, I will try that place.
Could you tell me some specific sites, I do not have a boat.
BTW, water area around morgan city is saltwater or freshwater?

henderson is right not far from lafayette. i am sure ricky and some of those guys could guide you along your way over there.

Henderson, Lake Martin, Chicot State Park, and the Mermentau River are a few places to check out. Lake Martin is close and you can fish it from the bank, too!

If things slow down a bit after the summer, I'll give you a call and take ya for a boat ride.
