    Hwy. 400 at Cherokee

For you guys that travel 400 the state (for what ever reason) has lowered the speed limit to 45mph through Cherokee. Be real careful our local Barney is watching it real close and fines can be pretty high in municipal court. Just a heads up............................

Cheaper to keep a kid in tourney fishing than paying attorneys to keep them out of jail !!

Are you sure this is new? I used to travel that route pretty regularly between Wichita and Joplin/Table Rock, and I'm pretty sure the speed limit has been 45 from west of the high school to somewhere near the railroad tracks east of town for years.

OK, just clarifying. Are you saying that the speed limit is now 45 from the Stop Sign at hwy 7 all the way east to the railroad tracks?

I'm asking because we'll be heading back to KS in April. Thanks!

Its now 45 from just west of the high school to 1 mile east of 7, with a short 55 zone on each end. They have put up a few more signs the last couple of days but it can sneak up on you............

I always creeped through they anyhow. Being the only stop sign and speed zone between Wichita and US-69 I figured smokies were watchin close

    Thanks for the heads up
