I have a 1988 200HP V6 "Precision Blend". I bought it last year, and have been pretty satisfied, with just a few overheat issues (largely solved after replacing impeller and poppet valve).
Lately, I've noticed a sort of "clunking" noise when I begin trimming down when the engine is fully or near fully trimmed up. It just clunks once right at the start of the downward trim.
I'm sure someone here can tell me what that is.

Put some grease on the ends of your trim rods, it will go away.

I'll save you some time Paul:
- Get the metal trim sender as you'll probably break the plastic one
- Yes your water pressure gauge probably froze over the winter just like mind did
- Use Ring Free or Seafoam
The best for last
- BBS and BTS both work equally well
They seem to be the most common questions
