Melvern?

Heading there in 2 weeks for my wifes family reunion. She reccomended taking my boat to fish. How is it there? I hear primary smallie lake. It is mostly rock? Weed? Any input would be helpful.

Mostly rock, alot like Milford. Smallmouth, largemouth and spotted bass in that order. Stay on the lower 3rd of the lake unless you plan on going up the river then once past the bridge idle only.

But be very careful down there. You can see from Melvins post that they do NOT like outsiders down there. Leave your man purse and maxi pads at home and you will be OK. Oh, and for gods sake take off the fingernail polish!!!

it's got alot of good smallies , Largemouth and walleyes.. mostly rocky, some standing timber .. this time of yeas it will be full of pleasure boaters and don't forget to check out the swimming beach Swim beach is 2nd cove down from dam on north side of the lake

i'm needing to get a couple of boys up there to prefish for the championship

Haven't fished that lake for a couple of years,, years ago we fished it for crappie and walleyes.. i got a couple of new spots to try, so i need to get up there.. we got a club tx there sept 11th, and the youth Championship there Sept 25th

Marina cove always holds fish....cove to the east of arrow rock ramp towards the damn on the south side of the lake...specifically the east side of that cove has always been a good stretch for me too...
