I hear wire is best, but some people use mono fishing line?
What size of wire do you find works best?
Where to find the wire?
Thanks,

Travis, i bought a spool of copper wire from ACE hardware and use it. Smallest diameter they had and it works just fine. I use a small fly tying vise to hold the jig, spinner bait or whatever, wrap the wire and trim it off.
I have no clue.....but I know the Jigs I got from Josh Walker were Great!!! not sure the wire he used but was very fine & wrapped a couple/few times on there![]()
Maybe Im just the luckiest guy ever but I've never has a rubber skirt break on a jig, guess I just dont catch enough fish![]()
you must not leave jigs out in the sun, use Stink on them......there are many things that can Deteriorate the rubber on those things.
OH WAIT................nevermind....you havnt had a problem cause your always loosing them hungup![]()

On rare occation I'll hit my jig w/ some Gulp spray but thats about it. And as of recently, I only go fishing with its freezing tits and pouring rain so no sun to worry about![]()
And I don't break jigs off when they just hung up, I cruise in there on the TM and use my rod to to knock the jig free while at the same time breaking rod tips and/or busting eyelets![]()

i use 24 guage wire from the craft dept at wally world
im not a fan of using mono...more of a pain to use and get it tied tight than wire is
I can show you the wire I use and how to wrap it when I see you this weekend.
22 guage copper works great as does floral wire in the craft section at wally world.
