Problem with my Yamaha

I hope I can explain this well enough.

My motor is acting weird. When I'm by myself it won’t do this. Only when someone is in the boat with me. I have a 150hp VMAX HPDI.

My motor starts fine, and gets up on plane fine, but after a few minutes of running on full pad I start losing power. When I back off on the throttle it gains more power, but when I give it gas again the power drops back off. When I back off and it gains more power after a few minutes the power drops again and keeps dropping until it starts cutting in and out. I can then cut the throttle and it will idle fine. I can turn the motor off and fish a little bit, then when I start the motor again the process starts all over. I’m not sure if it’s a compression issue or a clogged fuel filter.

Replace your fuel pump diaphrams and primer bulb. It's starving for gas.
