    Bass clubs

I am looking for a bass club in the Lawrence/Topeka area. I have been fishing all my life but just recently started targeting bass. I do have my own boat (Not a bass boat) but a 18' Lund Alaskan with a 90hp tiller and a custom 7 1/2 casting deck. I would like to find a club that a friend and myself could fish together in. This is an awesome site and thanks in advance for any info.

I would like to suggest the Leavenworth Bass Club, They are some of the best fisherman and greatest group of guys i have every fished with. Check out the website at http://www.theleavenworthbassclub.org/..

A bunch of us are here on the board.. i am sure someone else will speak up.

I know there is some people here who fish one out of Topeka.

I drive 45 minute to Leavenworth club. I could be going to ones closer, but I got to know several people from this club. It is a club designed to make everyone a better fisherman.
However we fish all our tx in Missouri.

I'm not saying anything bad about the Topeka Club, I don't know nothing about it.

I am actually looking at joining the Lawrence Bass Club....I live down in Baldwin so its the closest one to me. Its a small club with paper tournaments, but I think they are all draw tournaments so not sure you guys could fish together....I looked at the other clubs but this one works out for me in that the tournaments are on Saturdays rather than Sundays and its closest for me to get to meetings etc.. I am going to my first meeting March 1 and will be a non-boater this year....Here is the site http://www.lawrencebassclub.com

Jeremy, The LBC conducts a mix of buddy and draw tournaments and we do not allow buddies to fish more than 4 tournaments per year together. This rule was put in place by design in order to spread the wealth of knowlege throughout the club. If you're specifically looking to join a club that you and your partner can fish together every tournament LBC may not be the best fit for you.

With regard to your boat, I'm not familiar with the Lund line, but here's the club rules concerning boats and you can decide if your boat is in compliance.

    2. Maximum Horsepower will not exceed B.I.A. recommended limit.
    3. No stick steering, minimum boat length is 15 feet, and minimum horsepower is 50. All boats must meet B.I.A. and U.S. Coast Guard requirements. Each boat must have a functional bilge pump and properly aerated live-well.
    4. Properly operating engine kill switches are mandatory. Kill-switch must be attached to driver’s flotation device. All contestants must wear a Coast Guard approved flotation device any time their boat is on plane. Non-boaters must provide their own personal flotation device.

This whole work one week and off the next really sucks. I dont wanna commit and not have a steady job. I will show up one of these days but you might be too old to fish by then.
