    Newbie Yamaha owner

I have a 2009 Skeeter SX190 with a Yamaha 150HP HPDI motor. I am going to take it out soon to start the break-in. When do I need to add the Ring free to my gas? Before or after the break-in period? Thanks

use ring free or seafoam at appropriate ratio right from the start. Good gas without ethanol is even better if you can find it.

Does the ringfree treat the ethanol or is there an additive for that also?

Ring Free is suppose to prevent carbon build up, so as a treatment for fuel with ethanol I'd say no. As long as your boat is fairly new, all your seals and fuel lines will tolerate ethanol fuel (up to 10%) with no issues. Don't want to complicate your decision more but if you research you will find most people have chosen to use SeaFoam instead of ring free with better results. I'd also recommend a good quality 100% synthetic oil after your motor is broken in. Amsoil HP injector oil is top notch!

Some reading for you, keep in mind this is from a Yamaha mechanic!:

    Seafoam & Amsoil 100% synthetic!

Do not use a 100% synthetic ol till after breakin though.

Exactly like they said. Post some pics on Skeeter sight when you can. Sounds like a great boat

    Very nice rig!

Ring Free from the start. You may want to consider Pri-G for the ethanol. It is a great fuel stabalizer and works excellent on carbon as well. It is proven to help reduce/prevent Phase Seperation in E-10 Fuel. Great stuff. I run Yamalube, Ring Free and Pri-G in every tank. Works for me.
