Re: Crank bait and spinner bait rod????? (H2O_Fowl)

I have an older Shimano Convergence for my spinnerbait rod that I really like. Had a Kistler California Spinnerbait Special that was pretty good too.

For my shallow/medium crankin stick I use a St Croix Mojo crankin stick

For the deeper or heavier stuff I have a stiffer berkley tactix spinnerbait rod.

Falcon Silver series 7' 4 power for deeper cranks
Falcon Cara 6 1/2' 3 power for smaller cranks
Falcon Cara 6' 4" Spinnerbait Special

what kind of crankbait? Deep? or Square bills? I think that a loomis CBR845 is a great all around cranking rod... SBR812 for spinnerbaits.

Re: Crank bait and spinner bait rod????? (dukhntr)

Falcon Original Cranker is sweet for 1/4-3/8oz crankbaits (and cheap). They have a Big Cranker for heavier baits but for some reason I don't like it, not enough flex throughout the rod, tough to throw anything expect a 3/4oz rattle trap.

Falcon Cara T7 finesse jig rod for spinnerbaits, probably not the ideal rod but seems to work well for me.

small to med cranks I use a St Croix Avid that has specific blank for that 6'6" med with Moderate action..........it works very well, light weight & can feel the bait moving in the water........and has landed a nice 5lber for me as well so has proven its strength as well.

I dont through many deep ones but I have a 7' Shimano Crucial for that but I use it for other stuff too.

    Spinners........I use a 6'6" MH fast.....and my 6'10" MH fast for larger ones.....both are Kistler's.

Re: Crank bait and spinner bait rod????? (R.D.)

small cranks St Croix Legend tournament series LTBC70MM...deeper and bigger cranks St Croix premier PC70MF

Just switched over my spinner bait rods this year...went with the Kistler Helium LTA 7' Medium-Heavy

I am satisfied with all three but do plan on upgrading the premiers this year to one of the legend lines

falcon bucco rods are a nice rod for the money
Cheaper to keep a kid in tourney fishing than paying attorneys to keep them out of jail !!

Deep South Rods has a couple of different models for crankbaits. Split Grip and single handle, I have been using Split Grip for the TC Cranks square bill and having a blast.
